Akiko gets easily nervous when she is around people. Because of her shy and quiet nature she tends to flee unnoticed from crowded places.
Befriending her may be a real challenge, since she thinks more than says, she prefers to listen to people rather than talk to them upfront, unless curiosity strikes her or people come over to her (even though she’ll try to flee at first), but overall Akiko will never make the first step.
Sometimes tends to eavesdrops on conversations and also observes people when in a “safe” distance _{a good 2km lmao}. However, some people may find this attitude creepy. _{because seriously noticing someone observing you from 2km is creepy}
Most of the time seen with a smile, she is hard to anger, as she always hides it behind her smile. On the rare times she does get angry though, it's hard to even recognize the cute little first year.
Aside from all that, when she has something in mind, she can get really stubborn and she easily gets passionate about things.

|| History ||

Akiko Haruki is the younger sister among a family of four, Ren Haruki, her older brother, Sanosuke Haruki, her father and DunDun, her pet dog, her mother being remarried.

As a kid she wasn’t the quiet and reserved person she is now; she was really loud, playful and energetic. It all changed back from when her mother abandoned them for money... by divorcing and getting married to a richer man, even if Akiko's father is considered a rich businessman. Her father, however, never noticed how much her mother's departure affected her, slowly turning her into the quiet and reserved person she is now.

It’s hard to believe she even started to be violent and steal people in elementary school and her start in middle school, causing problems here and there. As a result her father kept scolding and punishing her but it only worsened the situation, until the point she had to be transfered to other schools.

It’s Ren, that “setted her aim right” by getting transfered to the same schools to take care of her and force her to spend time with him. He was also behind her to keep her away from fights and stealing things but Akiko still managed to sneak away from him sometimes. When that happened he did his best to wipe off all the mess she made. And so, with time and persistence Akiko changed for the better, looking up to her brother. She didn’t want to stay around people anymore though, and all this time being alone made her shy.

Anyway, unlike other fans, she was introduced to volleyball only just recently, while taking a walk with DunDun during summer vacations just before entering in Amataro. Some guys were practicing volleyball outside and she received a ball on her head, making her send it back to it's owner's head at full power. When Akiko realized what she'd done, she tried to apologize by desperately repeating the word "gomen". She was surprised they didn't make a big deal out of it however.

It was only later she heard from her brother they were newcomers practicing to get in the volleyball club at Daiki Gakuen and has been supporting their team ever since. _{((it would have been smarter if I had a friend applying there for relationship sake tho))}
